Skyscanner – Supporting travellers through COVID

Role: Senior Design Manager and Designer.

When COVID hit, Skyscanner took a big hit. We couldn’t sell flights, hotels or car hire. So what could we do? We developed a strategy to support travellers through lockdown.

From our bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms, we produced work to combat traveller anxiety, give empathy and support to those missing travel and as we came closer to the end of lockdown, we gave travellers hope and nostalgia about getting back out there.

We might not have been able to travel, but music still moves us was a collection of 24 playlists celebrating destinations, genres and events from around the world.

Sonic landscapes.

My personal favourite from the collection. Take yourself on a sonic journey across otherworldly landscapes. Plug in and enjoy while you walk, work or window watch.

Playpacks

We knew that having to juggle both work and personal responsibilities, especially with having a restless child at home, can be a lot. So we created travel-themed Play Packs to keep the little ones occupied.

Where on earth?

We partnered with GeoGuessr, the online geography game so that you can travel without even leaving your house. Reignite your sense of adventure by guessing an unknown destination using hints from architecture, landmarks and even road signs!
